I’m writing to express my interest in the Project Coordinator role for the Seasonal Work: Learning in Community program. I share Clublokaal’s values of sustainability, collectivity and mutual support, and I’m really excited about the possibility of working with you.
This position strongly appeals to me because it brings together production, support, working closely with artists, local and social initiatives and the creation of welcoming environments. I enjoy taking on coordinating and caring roles, ensuring that activities run smoothly and that participants feel supported and included. I am excited to learn from and work alongside Clublokaal, while taking on a function that supports my professional, artistic, and personal growth.
I’m already familiar with De Kleine Aarde, having spent time there during a residency and a work retreat with my collective, SoilUp!, which is currently organising a residency on site. This experience has given me insight into how such programs can unfold, and I believe it would be valuable in supporting the summer school.
Through my artistic practice, workshop facilitation, internships, and my current participation in Fabricademy at Waag in Amsterdam, I have developed strong skills in hosting groups, collaborating with educators and artists, supporting public programs and contributing to communication and documentation. My experience includes co-developing and co-leading workshops, managing the floor and providing visitor support, creating social media and website content, and contributing to exhibition production through writing and budgeting support. I see these as particularly relevant to the communication and production aspects of this role.
I am currently taking Dutch classes and practising the language daily. I already use Dutch at work and in everyday situations. While I am still improving, I am motivated and confident that my language skills will continue to grow within the context and responsibilities of this role.
